The four components of mechanical colour reproduction become independent spatial presences.
4 Colour Separation begins with CMYK, a system designed to disappear into the images it reproduces. By separating cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, the work withdraws each channel from that service and gives it an independent spatial body. Arranged as a cross, four illuminated cases form a field the visitor must enter. This reversal is central: a mechanism normally hidden beneath representation becomes visible, while no completed image arrives to absorb its components. Each colour retains the memory of printing but acquires its own optical density, symbolism, and relation to the body. Movement replaces mechanical registration; the viewer, rather than the press, brings the colours into temporary alignments. The work therefore holds analysis and recombination in tension. It separates the components of a printing process, opening them to a new experience of colour, distance, and material light.
