Aura

In Aura, a blend of three-dimensional colour floats within a transparent space. The rectangular fields are diffuse at their edges, with no apparent boundaries. Colours bleed into one another like a spectrum and out into the surrounding space. The title suggests a presence that extends beyond the outline of a body. The floating bands of colour recall modernist colour field painting. The small scale makes the encounter intimate, allowing colour to suggest an expansiveness that exceeds the measured space of the display case. Colour is objectified for us to experience spatially in three dimensions.
