Nebulae brings the intimate scale of the body into relation with the vastness of space.
In Nebulae, forms resembling red blood cells appear suspended in a liquid like environment, dispersed across a space that seems both intimate and expansive. The title brings this microscopic subject into relation with the vastness of nebulae. Red is central to this encounter. A recurring colour in Spriggs’ work, it evokes the physicality of the subject while carrying an emotional intensity that the viewer feels in relation to their own body.
