Contour lines trace the volume of the horse and rider.
Regisole Topographical Study examines the contour outlines of the mounted figure in the larger Regisole installation. Made in 2014, the study brings the equestrian subject into the language of topography, mapping its volume through black ink on 29 layered transparencies.
The lines follow the changing contours of the horse and rider through depth. Seen together, they establish the figure as a spatial drawing; from an oblique position, the individual outlines and the intervals between them become more apparent.
