Contact

In Contact, one formation descends from above while another rises from below. At the centre, their tapered ends meet, or almost meet, at a point so slight that the decisive event remains uncertain. The work suspends the instant between separation and connection, before contact can be confirmed or just after it has begun to break. The forms resemble tornadoes, currents, or two bodies drawn together by opposing pressures.

Their apparent movement gives the transparent case an unexpected tension: the enclosure is still, while everything within it seems directed towards a single encounter. From the frontal viewpoint, the distributed image gathers into two luminous volumes. From the side, the forms collapse into a sequence of planes and the point of contact becomes difficult to locate. The title can name touch, collision, communication, or relation. Each meaning depends upon a boundary between separate entities, and upon the possibility that the boundary may be crossed. Transparency exposes the entire event, yet cannot resolve whether the two forms are truly joined. What matters is not only contact itself, but the charged interval that makes contact possible.

At the edge of recognition

White operates as illumination and erasure at once. It gives the figure intensity while withholding descriptive certainty. The work depends on this ambiguity: recognition begins, but the image never settles into a fixed body or a stable account of what has occurred.

The display case establishes a further distance. It protects and isolates the apparition, turning an intimate encounter into an object of observation. The viewer is brought close to the image while remaining physically outside it.
