An inquiry into the earliest moment of life, when a single form divides and complexity begins to emerge.
In Zygote, saturated magenta colour unfolds through depth and the movement of the viewer. Two centres emerge within a shared formation, evoking the first division of a cell and the beginnings of differentiation. The work reflects a state before individual identity, as structure and form begin to take shape.
This inquiry connects Zygote to In Utero and its exploration of life in formation, and to Vision, where a form comes into being through the viewer’s perception. What appears is a process of becoming.
