Black and white occupy the same form, revealed from opposing viewpoints.

Seen from one side, Antithesis appears as a black form; from the opposite side, it appears white. Its blurry contours suggest a square that dissolves at its boundaries, a form without definite edges. What the viewer encounters depends on where they stand and how they move around the sculpture.
The black square recalls modernist art such as Kazimir Malevich’s Black Square. In Antithesis, opposing perceptions can each be valid. Each viewpoint reveals something true about the same form, while moving around the sculpture opens the possibility of another understanding.
Perception unfolds over time. The memory of one side accompanies the encounter with the other, allowing the viewer to hold both appearances together even when only one is visible.
